What Is Queer Agritourism? (And Why It Matters)

🌈 Healing, land, and joy—grown from the ground up.

You’ve probably heard of agritourism before—things like farm stays, u-pick flower fields, winery weekends, and fall harvest festivals. But what happens when you center that experience around queerness, joy, safety, and intentional design?

That’s what we’re building at Y'allsWell Ranch—a queer agritourism destination in Upstate New York, rooted in rest, healing, and reclamation.

🌿 So what is queer agritourism, exactly?

At its core, it’s simple:
Queer agritourism is the act of inviting queer, trans, and gender-expansive people onto land that is intentionally designed with us in mind. It’s about creating space for us to participate in farming, food, nature, and healing without having to filter or erase ourselves to do it.

It’s picking flowers in a place that affirms your pronouns.
It’s walking barefoot through healing gardens where you don’t have to shrink.
It’s laughing with your chosen family around a farmstand bonfire at sunset.
It’s movement, and joy, and land—all reclaimed in the name of freedom.

🤠 Why does it matter?

Because for generations, land hasn’t felt safe for many of us.
Queer folks—especially Black and brown queer folks—have been historically excluded from land access, homeownership, farming, and outdoor recreation. Even wellness spaces often cater to whiteness, wealth, and rigid gender norms.

At Y'allsWell, we’re undoing that.
We’re building a space where queerness is not just welcomed—it’s central. A space where we can move, grow, heal, plant, dance, and reclaim the outdoors in all of our complexity and softness.

🌻 What will queer agritourism look like at Y'allsWell Ranch?

Here’s what we’re dreaming up:

  • Pick-your-own flower gardens with aromatherapy trails

  • Vertical farming tours focused on sustainability and food equity

  • Farm-to-table meals shared around long tables and loud laughter

  • Workshops on herbal healing, plant magic, and queer land reclamation

  • Cabin stays & hybrid camping with sensory-informed movement spaces

  • Festivals, bonfires, & music where softness and joy take center stage

💚 This is the kind of world we’re growing.

One where healing is rooted.
Where land is shared.
Where queerness isn’t the afterthought—it’s the blueprint.

Welcome to queer agritourism. Welcome to Y'allsWell.
